"So why are you listening then?"

WHY . ARE . YOU . STILL . LISTENING ?

Dear friend, do you know what God's word says about you? It says...
"you are beautifully and wonderfully made"
"you are more precious than rubies"
"you are a child of God"
"you are loved so deeply by a man who sacrificed himself to save you"
"you can do all things through christ who strengthens you"
"you have been chosen for such a time as this"

So why are you still listening to what other people say about you?

You are NOT ugly
You are NOT worthless
You are NOT a mistake
You are NOT damaged goods
You DO belong
You ARE loved
You ARE strong
You HAVE been chosen

You, in all your "imperfections", ARE everything God designed you to be. From the very moment you were formed in your mother's womb you were nothing short of perfection. Imagine if we walked in this truth every day. How different would life look for you? Imagine how the words would just roll off your back as if they were water droplets on an umbrella.

Stop letting the words of those who barely know you, and could never truly know you, speak louder than those spoken by your FATHER who carefully and purposefully knit together your every fibre. He loves you so much and He would never call you stupid, weak, bad, unqualified, damaged or ugly. Never forget that YOU were born, just as you are, for such a time as this.

Lift your head my beautiful friend and walk in the confidence that your Father, who loves you so deeply, DID NOT make a mistake when he made you.

No matter what labels or diagnoses you carry the greatest of all those is DAUGHTER of the almighty. You are ROYALTY Sis! Straighten up your crown and wear your title boldly because no matter what you do, no matter what they say NO ONE can strip you of your place as God's child whom he loves deeply.

New Year, New… oh who am I kidding?

Goodbye and good riddance 2021. We had some good times but I think it’s time to go our separate ways. Look, it’s not you, it’s me. To be completely honest, I’ve just outgrown you and I’m sorry to say this but, no we can’t be friends.

Last year was a pretty tumultuous year for my family and I, but it didn’t start that way. No, like every good rollercoaster ride ever created it started relatively smoothly. I had my New Year’s resolutions written down and memorised to a T. “Be a better friend”, “Make more time for my friends”, “Be on time for school”, “Be more organised”, “Make more time for God”, “Write more”, “Save more”, “Spend less”, “Yell less”, “Be a better Mum”, “Go on more date nights”…the usge (aka usual). Did I pray about it, um no. Did I go into the year wholeheartedly expecting that I was in complete control of everything, um yes. Have I learned this lesson on “control” more times than I can count, yes I most certainly have…You could say I’m a reluctant learner in this department...

As the sun slowly waves goodbye, it's deep orange glow ushering in a diamond encrusted blanket. I am perplexed that "you did it all for me".

When I nestle my head down into it's cradle and slowly breathe out the last of the day's blessings I sigh and think quietly to myself, "if you did it all for me today, you'll do it all again for me tomorrow".

Let's be honest it's not a matter of "if" we get tired it's a matter of "when".

I read something just recently that said "hard work requires energy and important work requires time". If we quit every time we got tired from the hard work the important work would never get done. Don't get caught up in this life of instant gratification. Sometimes the most rewarding things take time.

Raising children is hard and important

Running a charity is hard and important

Bringing about change is hard and important

Achieving your dreams is hard and important

Starting a business is hard and important

Rest today, you deserve it, but tomorrow get back to the hard work so the important work can be achieved ❤

To my Children,

Do you know that I love you? I mean, truly love you? With a love that runs deep within my every

It runs deep enough to remain untouched by the daily challenges of life. Untouched by the arguments and the tantrums. Untouched by the mistakes and the bad choices.

Sometimes I get mad, but I still love you. Sometimes I yell, but I still love you. Sometimes I’m disappointed, but I still love you. Please know I’m working on doing better at all those things.

Sometimes you scare me and it seem like I’m angry. In truth, I’m scared. Scared because I couldn’t imagine my life without you beside me.

Sometimes you don’t apply yourself and I push you to do better. It’s not because I hate you or enjoy pushing you. I love that you are so clever and I want that to shine.

Sometimes I need some space. It’s not because I don’t love you. I love you too much to accidentally take my frustration out on you. I use the space in order to be the best version of myself for you.

Sometimes you get angry and I send you to your room. I don’t want to get rid of you. I love you too much to argue with you when we’re both angry and say things we don’t mean.

Sometimes you hate me and want a new family. Sometimes you yell and refuse to do as you’re asked. Sometimes you argue, kick and scream but please know that even in those moments, I still love you.

I know that I need to work on showing it better, but in the meantime I hope that these words remind you that through all things and at all times I love you.

Check your Baggage

Once upon a time, not that long ago, we had the ability to freely travel from one destination to another via these things called aeroplanes. If you’ve ever had the privilege of travelling, via flight, you’d be familiar with the notion of checking your baggage.

》Honestly? I haven't quite figured that one out yet, but rest assured I'm working on it. When previously asked this question I'd have listed the above roles however if I were to describe what makes me...well...me I'd say the following. I am very loving! The Father's Heart

Quickening the pace I stalked my way back down the hallway into the lounge room; sitting in anticipation of the pending tantrum that had now become our evening bed time ritual. Our 12 month old had reached that ripe age of knowing what she wants without understanding what she needs. After a short time sulking she escalated to crying; hitting her screaming climax shortly after. She had caught my attention and as I sat in the dark rocking her in my arms I compared my heart as her mother to God’s father heart for me....
